Mallet Pond Parking - From
Cobleskill go west on Rt. 7 (Main St.) for 3.8 mi. from the downtown traffic signal to
Beards Hollow Rd. Turn left on Beards Hollow and then stay left at the "Y"
only 1/4 mi. from Rt. 7. This is Cross Hill Rd. Proceed UP Cross Hill Rd. for
3 mi. to its end. At "T" bear right on to Dodge Lodge Rd. Stay right
at a "Y" and proceed on the dirt road (Rossman Fly Rd.). The road heads up
and becomes narrow and a little rough. 1.3 mi. from Cross Hill Rd. is the entrance,
marked with a sign to Mallet Pond. Bear left and proceed about 1/4 mi. to parking
area. From I-88 exit 21, proceed 1.7 mi. west on Rt. 7 to Beards Hollow Rd. described above. From west, Beards Hollow Rd. is a right turn 7/10 mi. from the exit 20, Richmondville I-88 interchange. |

Looking Glass Pond Parking - Proceed south on State Rt. 10 from State Rt. 7, just east of Richmondville and just off I-88 exit 20. At 4.8 miles from Rt. 7 intersection bear left on Sawyer Hollow Rd. Turn right at 2.2 miles on to Yankee St and then bear left in .7 miles on to Tamarack Rd. You will go past the NYS Summit Shock correctional facility. The road is now dirt, but okay for cars. Turn left at the "T" 2 miles from Yankee St. on to Rossman Hill Rd (may or maynot be marked). Proceed 1.5 miles to the maked entrace to the Looking Glass Pond parking area. | |
Lutheranville State Forest |
Lutheranville State Forest Access - From the traffic signal in downtown Richmondville proceed south on Summit St. (a left if eastbound on Rt. 7) for 1/10 mile and then bear right on Brooker Hollow Rd. Proceed up Brooker Hollow for 1.5 miles and turn left on Gott Rd. Proceed UP Gott Rd. making sure you go down a small dip before heading up again. Note that the road becomes narrow and rough, more suitable for a 4-wheel drive, but if you drive slowly your automobile should be fine. As you come to the top of the climb you will reach an intersection. This is about 2 miles from Brooker Hollow Rd. This is where you park. There's a place to pull off on the left. | |

Sawyer Hollow Rd Trailhead - From State Rt. 10 in Summit, NY turn east on to Sawyer Hollow Rd. Sawyer Hollow Rd. intersects State Rt. 10 at the Summit US Post office. Proceed 3.3 miles to trail head. Parking is on the right. | |

Greenbush Hill Parking - From State Rt. 145, just south of the junction with I-88, take Mineral Springs Rd. west for 1.9 miles to Greenbush Hill Rd. Turn left, south, on to Greenbush Hill Rd. and proceed up the steep, twisty hill for 2.2 miles. At the top go straight for another .4 miles to a "Y". Park on the shoulder of the road just after the "Y". | |
