Breakabeen - Clauverwie Loop - 15.6 mi.
Difficulty - Moderate.  One 300 ft. climb.  Long flat stretches.
From the Middleburgh High School on Rt. 145/Main St. turn left, south on Rt. 30 and begin your ride up the Schoharie Valley.  Rt. 30 wanders 10 miles up the Valley from Middleburgh to North Blenheim, but you'll turn left at Breakabeen, about 8 miles from your start.  The ride to Breakabeen is mostly flat by Schoharie County standards.  In Breakabeen turn left on to Clauverwie. Shortly past the general store a climb begins (see Climbs page).   The climb is noticable, gaining a few hundred feet in elevation, but there are no onerous ramps.  A few rollers follow after the top of the climb, and finally a well-deserved descent takes you back to Middleburgh and your start.  The ride is beautiful and mostly gentle.
